The project
Produced custom packaging mockups for a startup that offered unboxing experiences, inventing fictional brands to illustrate the company’s service potential. These designs were meant to be featured alongside conceptual rack cards on the company’s website and social media (case study here).
Cosmetics Packaging Set
I was asked to design both the primary and secondary packaging for this mockup. I decided to select a theme for each of the kits, alongside a unique colour scheme. I thought that this packaging shape would be most likely to appeal to teenagers/adolescents, so I chose these themes accordingly. I enjoyed the challenge of coming up with ideas and names for these conceptual products.
Swimwear Box
Solare was a brand I had previously created when designing a rack card for this client, so it was nice to revisit the brand. The main challenge was working with the natural kraft texture of the box in the mockup my client had selected, while conveying a sense of luxury consistent with the brand’s style. I adjusted the colour in the illustration to complement the natural brown colour of the box, allowing it to pop a bit while keeping its premium feel.
Skincare Brand Packaging
This mockup required me to design both the skincare product packaging and the secondary packaging. I aimed to keep the packaging simple, but wanted to step away from the clinical aesthetic common to many skincare products. I decided to add some warmth through a floral theme, while maintaining a clean design.
Wellness Brand Packaging
This box was designed to fit a yoga company. I felt that a low-key, minimalistic aesthetic would be a good fit, so I chose a neutral colour scheme that almost blended in with the natural cardboard, yet provided enough contrast for the brand’s wordmark to stand out. It is designed to feel premium and calming.
